CELL IMAGING
BioMedha offers standard and bespoke cell imaging services to meet specific client projects, supporting their early-stage drug discovery pipeline.
Cell imaging provides visual and quantitative measurements to understand cellular processes, behaviour, target expression, function, and test compounds’ effects at cellular levels. We support client projects by using this capability from target validation, phenotypic assays, hypothesis testing and compound profiling.
Our cell imaging expertise includes:
- Cell painting: staining for multicolour phenotypic profiling. For example, staining of nuclei, cytoplasm, plasma membrane, mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi, cell marker studies
- Live cell imaging to study dynamic cellular processes, behaviour, and function Immunofluorescence imaging
- Immunofluorescence imaging
- Cell health assays: cell proliferation, cytotoxicity, apoptosis, and cell differentiation
- Cell signalling and reporter assays
- GPCR assays, including the GPCR internalisation and Transfluor® assay to screen GPCR ligands
- Angiogenesis assay
- Neurite outgrowth assay
- NETOsis assay
- Cell migration or wound healing assay
- Translocation or internalisation studies: autophagy, endosome, lysosome, phagosomes, mitochondrial assays, endocytosis, and pits and vesicles formation
- Co-culture assays
- Toxicology studies: DNA damage, neurotoxicity, cardiotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, and hematopoietic toxicity assessment
- Microscopy types: Bright-field, fluorescence, and digital confocal microscopy
- Cell types: immortalised cell lines, recombinant cell lines, immune cells, primary cells, and iPSC derived cells such as neurons, microglia, astrocyte, and cardiomyocytes
